In 2009, two paintings by Dries won prizes during the 'Geef Kleur' competition, organised by the University Hospital of Leuven to mark the 10th anniversary of the UZ Leuven palliative unit. The aim of the competition was to find works of art that can bring a little light to seriously ill people with little or no prospects. After the award ceremony, the winners' works were given a place in the palliative unit of UZ Leuven, originally at Campus Sint-Pieters and currently at Campus Gasthuisberg.
